One-piece, seamless shell design prevents leakage and separation caused by weak joints. The drum wall is made of tough virgin HDPE polyethylene with UV inhibitors to prevent damage from the sun, debris, oil, gas, marine organisms, salt and fresh water.
The interior of the float drum is filled with expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam. The foam is steam-pressured for a tight fit that provides the highest reserve buoyancy possible. The foam interior provides flotation if the outside shell becomes punctured and is continually tested to meet or exceed the 7-Day Water Absorption Test standard of 3 pounds per cubic foot. The “Falling Dart” test and ultrasonic wall thickness testing.
ASTM D1998-06 Falling Dart Impact Test: Validates that virgin grade HDPE resin is being used and that the molding process is complete and properly done. When punctured, Premier Moulding Heavy Duty Float Drums do not crack, shatter or sinks.
7-Day Water Absorption Test: Foam fill will aid in maintaining buoyancy if float becomes damaged. Properly steamed foam creates a tight seal which will prevent waterlogged floats and sinking docks. Void-free foam also supports outer shell walls, adding strength. Premier Moulding Heavy Duty Float Drums meet or exceed the test standard of 3 pounds per cubic foot.
Encasement Wall Thickness Standard: Eliminates weak wall floats with early failure potential and reduces unnecessary repair costs. Ensures floats will hold up to pre- and post-install abuse. Premier Moulding Heavy Duty Float drums have a nominal wall thickness of 0.150” and a minimum thickness of 0.125”.
Tank Tested Buoyancy Ratings: Calibrated Tank Tested Buoyancy for each model unit is available.
15-Year Float Drum Warranty: Premier Moulding Heavy Duty Float Drums offers a 15-Year Float
Drum Warranty on all of its manufactured float drums to the original owner.
Setiawest steel truss frame floating system incorporates engineering principles proven in bridge and crane construction. The open framework design provides maximum strength with minimum weight and creates less wave resistance for superior stability. Heavy-duty structural support tubes are used at both the top and bottom of the side frames. The entire frame is reinforced with structural channel bracing and extra strong angle crossbars.
The bottom of our framework have additional horizontal and cross bracing. Not only does this give our frames more strength, it allows the float drums to be properly secured on all sides.
These quality differences are easily recognisable when compared. We build to last!
Setiawest steel truss frame floating system can be built using marine-grade aluminium alloy or hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) steel offering various type of floorings such as timber, concrete or epoxy painted steel checker plates.
Offering multiple choices of decking from natural wood to composite wood decking
All our steel checker plate floorings are epoxy painted to create a anti-slip surface
